Mastercard 4859: Addendum, No-Show or ATM Dispute (legacy)

What it means: The cardholder disputes an addendum charge (an additional charge after the main transaction, e.g. damage or extras), a no-show charge, or an ATM dispute.

Mastercard has consolidated many older codes into 4808, 4834, 4837, 4853, 4863, 4870 and 4871; this legacy code may still appear on older or region-specific disputes.

How to respond: Show the customer agreed to the additional / no-show charge and that it was disclosed in advance.

Stripe usually labels this dispute as: general (check the reason shown on your dispute — Stripe maps network codes to its own categories).
